Been here twice w family. Great place. Check if pool is still under construction! We were upset about that c bc Expedia didn’t communicate to us. They had a few small pools but the big one wasn’t open. The staff was nice and made it up to us.

I’ll say what was good only. Staff are very nice and pleasant to deal with. Beach is awesome, Raymond is the house evening entertainment, is great and imho underappreciated there. On weds the band Goliath plays and they rock! Leaving my review at that and that should speak volumes.

The location in Akumal Bay was wonderful. The beach was beautiful and we saw turtles, rays, coral, and fish galore while snorkeling. The area was safe and convenient for walking. The property was beautiful and well laid out. We ate at several different restaurants with different cuisines. One item to kepe in mind, most of the restaurants are not air conditioned so we tried to sit by the windows or on patios as well as dress lightly. We relaxed on lounge chairs under a nice umbrella on the beach each day. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and made the stay delightful. The overall location was convenient for getting to/from TQO airport and to/from local attractions.

Plenty of leisure time options and food options as well. Staff is all very nice and welcoming, overall a great experience for my first time in Tulum. Akumal also offers travel package options as well as transportation and other options to get you where you need to be! Thankful and grateful for my stay in Akumal bay!

The staff and hospitality was amazing, loved all the restaurants onsite, and the yoga classes were led by knowledgeable instructors (definitely geared toward beginners since guests tend to not be experienced yogis). Unfortunately, the severe storm affected the building structure and made it so many of the hotel room ceilings had debris falling from it. I switched room 4x total until I got a room that was safe and intact.

Akumal Bay was even better than we had hoped and we had high expectations. They were working on some facilities but that’s understandable during low season. Employees were very helpful and friendly. Our thanks to Aracely for a surprise birthday celebration. She went above and beyond. The beach was amazing.
