Great location on beautiful beach. Had a fantastic meal at the gourmet restaurant. And a good one at Mexican one. Buffet and beach bar food was well below standard for us. Received upgraded room to penthouse which we did not ask for in building 4 - as far away from everything as you could possibly be. The umbrella on rooftop deck was very broken and despite 2 requests from us to replace it, never happened. So we did not sit up there. Far too hot during the day.

Wonderful resort and the most amazing friendly staff. For an all inclusive you were made to feel like a special guest nothing was a problem. Selection of restaurants was very good as was the main dining buffet, bars everywhere and no pressure to tip. Room was splendid cleaned every day, great bedding. Beach fabulous and good off beach snorkeling. Can’t rate it high enough!

Fantastic - can't wait to go back!
I will be recommending Akumal Bay Beach & Wellness resort to anyone and everyone traveling to the Riviera Maya from now on. From the beautifully maintained rooms and grounds, cleanliness and attention to guests' comfort, and incredible staff, to the amazing snorkeling right from the beach (that looks like it's out of a postcard!), every moment of this trip was incredibly relaxing and beautiful. Tons of food options, live music each night, a dive shop on site, and the overall laid back vibes made the experience unforgettable. Truly can't wait to go back.

We like it was all amenities and rooms along the beach. Even garden view was ocean view Some walking involved but even myself with limited mobility was fine as many areas for resting and relaxing everywhere Down side: Found main buffet was understaffed Bathroom just off main bar and buffet area very narrow units . Toilets low and no assists for handicap But lobby bathroom and snack bar/beach bathroom had great handicap units A lovely experience altogether though The evening dancing/music felt like you were at a family wedding Desk staff very accommodating Appreciate the welcome cold cloth and drink too !

Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness Resort is wonderful. It is not as large or flashy as many resorts but is very comfortable and has everything you might need. It has a family like atmosphere. The beach is beautiful and great for walking and swimming and snorkeling. Staff are very accommodating and helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our roof top hot tub with a great view of the beach daily in the afternoon. The restaurants and food were good with some unique and delicious selections. We enjoyed the Piano Man and the follow-up bands in the lounge close to the lobby and restaurants. It was such fun to see children and moms and dads dancing to the music. A lovely trip. This was our second visit and we will return.

We loved our stay at Akumal Bay. The staff at the resort were excellent and the location was perfect. The food at the buffet was good and the evening entertainment was also very good. The only negative was the morning “fight” for the loungers at the beach and on our first day, because we arrived in the afternoon, there were no towels left. For the rest of our stay we made sure we ensured we asked for towels in the morning and we didn’t have any problems. Overall, this is a great location if you want to relax and enjoy the sea and the nature.

Exceeded our expectations! Great staff, great layout of resort, beautiful beach. Enjoyed the restaurants on resort, great nightly entertainment with live music each night. Only thing that could be improved would be better access to lounge chairs, too many people hording chairs at 6am, then leaving them empty all day. Overall, one of the best trips ever, looking forward to returning!

My husband and I really enjoyed this property! We have been to Akumal many times but decided that we wanted to stay somewhere that had food and drinks included! We loved the location being walking distance into town, the food options were great and we never needed a reservation! The employees were definitely amazing! I cannot say enough about the customer service! They wanted to make sure that everyone was enjoying themselves regardless of just trying to relax or taking part in the activities. Our goal this vacation was to really just relax, and that’s what we were able to do! The beach is beautiful which is where we sat most of the time. They have smaller quieter pools to go to along with walk up bars to grab a cocktail from. We chose the Penthouse suite so that we could be even more secluded on the rooftop and enjoy the views and the jacuzzi. We had the best time! Especially if you’re looking for a more low resort to stay at, this is the place to go. We will definitely be going back!!
