It was a lovely stay and staff was kind, but we were charged the full amount rather than the remaining balance after our deposit that we made two months prior. Although plentiful, dining is more in the 3-4 star range.

when we checked in, our room wasn't available (I realized later this is part of the up sell strategy) we had the option to "upgrade" to a swim out room that was ready. The price communicated verbally to upgrade was $500. I was charged $1,064 for the upgrade. everything is in Peso. it felt just like being at a car dealership, where the sale manager had to be involved. There is a sneaky sale practice taught to the customer service people at Secrets in Cabo san Jose.

The service from the staff was excellent! Food was good in most cases. There could have been a little more entertainment provided. Having stayed at the Royal Solaris in Feb. 2024, Secrets is the defintion of a 5 star resort!
