Subject: Issue with Hotel Reservation and Room Allocation
Dear travelocity
I am writing to formally report an issue regarding our hotel reservation made yesterday. We booked a room through your platform, and upon arrival, we were given the exact room we had purchased. The reservation was made within the same unit provided by you as operators.
However, this morning, the hotel reception informed us that we had actually booked a cheaper room and that we would have to vacate the room we were staying in. They insisted that we had chosen a different room, which was not the case.
Later in the afternoon, my wife spoke with the receptionist, who mentioned that someone had previously reserved our room some time ago, and that was the reason we were being moved. However, the room they assigned to us does not match what we paid for. The hotel staff insists otherwise, as if we were unfamiliar with the hotel where we have stayed on multiple occasions.
Additionally, if you check my travel history, you will see that I book more than 180 hotel nights per year. I am well aware of how to choose a room and recognize what I am paying for. It is unacceptable for the hotel reception to try to confuse us and shift the blame onto your platform by claiming that we chose the wrong room due to an inaccurate description on your website, which is simply not true.
For these reasons, my experience with this hotel on this occasion has been extremely disappointing.
