This was a foodie paradise. There were all of these specialty restaurants that each had fabulous food, served with the utmost care. Also the staff goes out of their way for their clients. I loved this place and am going back again.

Large resort with multiple bars, restaurants, spa, beach & activities. Staff is very young, and the desk staff needs more training in customer service. I arrived during a thunderstorm and was basically abandoned at the airport. The resort has a designated shuttle service but refused to pick me up b/c "booking on Expedia made me ineligible for that service." I was forced to wait hours in the rain & pay $300 by the extortionists laying in wait outside the airport. The desk staff were shockingly rude & uniformed. Ditto with some of the restaurant hostesses. Shout out to Estefany, at the Concierge desk (Gold!) & the Director, Andrea, for doing their best to make up for this blunder.

If you are a foodie, this is heaven. They have many distinct and wonderful restaurants that have amazing food and excellent service. All of the people I encountered that were working there were cheerful polite and very helpful. this is a place I want to go back to this coming year.

My wife and I loved our stay and will be coming back! The service was great and the food amazing, especially the vegetarian options and their ability to go above and beyond for specific dietary preferences! We loved how quiet it was throughout the day and night... we slept so well! The variety of restaurants was great, and even after two weeks, we still had not tried everything. A special thank you to Adrian and Rodolfo at Spice and the lazy river staff who were wonderful everyday! We thank you all for making our stay a great one!

The resort was much smaller than represented online. The dining options had menu items missing in almost every restaurant and the wait times were very long in a half full restaurant. Everything closed down early for an adults only resort. Room service took one hour or more than quoted every time we ordered. Property was clean and we appreciated that.

The food was pretty good. Lots of seaweed on the beach. Unfortunately this is something out of their control, but would highly recommend combing the beach each morning to reduce it. The only thing that bothered us was we couldn’t eat together as a group of 8ppl. They would seat side-by-side but refused to push the tables together. When you’re paying as much as you are, it’s a little disappointing for them to not accommodate that simple request.

This was my 2nd Excellence resort and it fell short in comparison to the Excellence Oyster Bay. The food and overall upkeep of the property (fountains and pools) needs improvement. However, the spa lives up to the name just as it did in Jamaica!

I cannot say enough positive things about Riviera Cancun. We came here on our honeymoon and it was the best decision ever. The quality and service is unbelievable! Everyday was perfect. Food, location, service, etc. What stands out most is the staff: Angelo, Julian, Eliseo, Mases, Itamar - and the rest of the gang. They made everyday fun filled, and are exceptional entertainers. We can’t wait to book our next trip here

Having stayed at the location in Playa Mujeres twice we anticipated this location to be similar and it was. Everything about this hotel is great, service, cocktails, food, lazy river…. There was a younger crowd at this location. The swim up bar pool area is very small so we stayed at the lazy river and we couldn’t have gotten better drinks service from Mathilde. Highly recommend the Excellence!

Food was very good to excellent for a resort. Drinks were good but not great. The excellence club was very expensive for what you get. The Magna restaurant has an amazing tomahawk steak which is almost worth the price of entry, but the rest of the food was not at the same level (particularly, the breakfast was only so-so… the eggs Benedict where not great). The French and lobster house restaurants were very good. Our upgraded “excellence club” room was very nice, but extremely cold at all times. Uncomfortably so. Also, our view was of the utility area of the neighbouring resort… not super. None of these things were deal-breakers. Overall, we really enjoyed the visit. It’s a nice, clean resort with many pools and good restaurants. Definitely recommended.
