The property is beautiful and the staff are amazing! However, it is a large property and golf carts come around rarely and were often already full so we found ourselves walking ALOT! This is actually 3 properties in one and the property we stayed at has no food service after 5pm so we had to walk a long distance to any of the available dining. It is hard to get a reservation for the 2 restaurants that take reservations. The one night we did get into a reserved restaurant, it was almost empty!! All the other restaurants were first come, first serve and even the buffet restaurants frequently had an hour or more wait. Overall, the food was mediocre except for the beach barbecue for the fire show was outstanding, delicious! We asked several times for refills to our mini bar refrigerator in our room that were not honored. And if you like to drink liquor, there is none in your mini bar, Beer only. The beer was warm when they stocked it and there was never a consistant brand as if all the beer they had available was all the same (I assure it was not!). There was lots of confusion as to which hotel lobby we were getting picked up for excursions. The first excursion we were at the top lobby and they were at the bottom, they did come pick us up where we were. The second excursion we were at the bottom lobby and they picked us up there, no problem. The 3rd excursion we were at the bottom lobby and they went to the top and by the time we got a golf cart to the top lobby, they had left us

Beautiful resort and great food. However service is why im rating so low. I traveled solo and I'm a woman; I was ignored/overlooked at the bars because they thought i was waiting for someone (I waited almost 10 minutes before I was serviced). I was not told that the resort had an app till I went to the concierge asking how can I know when the restaurants open and close (this was my 2nd day). The tub was very confusing no faucets or signs so someone had to vome show me but she didn't know either so the handyman had to tell her to tell me. I went to the seaside market and was faced away from the buffet also i wasnt told it was a buffet so I sat there for over 10 minutes waiting for someone only for the drink waiter to tell me its a buffet. Also, I constantly had my do not disturb sign up but housekeeping came anyways; and they turned my air on 68 degrees (took forever to get my room back warm). Also do expect to be able to do the "included" activities plus the resort didn't have many activities to do if you stay (nor did they describe tge activities). Overall beautiful place and room, delicious food but service and activities lack majorly so I'd never go back as a solo traveler. I could've picked a cheaper hotel and spent the extra money on being able to do activities if I wouldve known.

Mis-lead to thank the room had double beds
I liked had booked this room early and asked for two twin beds since I was traveling with another girlfriend . We were told to ask when we got there and I saw two beds on the website when I booked . I check in and we were told they did not have two twin beds and resort was catered for couples . I wish that was told to me before I booked . They sent up a twin cart which was not what we had expected so we moved this bed that was outside and out the mattress on it to make it work for us . We were very disappointed at the room but we did not let it spoil the trip.

A beautiful and clean resort with friendly and helpful staff who will look after all of your needs!All adults was a plus for us, and we had a peaceful and relaxing trip. The included activities, like the catamaran ride and cenote exploration were well worth it! We can’t wait to stay again!

I expected a lot more from a Dorado hotel. Too many details prevent me from giving it 5 stars. The food was not great. The buffet is one of the worst buffets I’ve had at any resort. It was small, not cozy, with very limited options, and average flavors at best. Other restaurants were decent but nothing memorable. The only restaurant I thought it was delicious it was the beach bbq with an Argentinian chef Domingo. I really thought the food was going to be amazing. Also, the entertainment was very poor and boring, and the pools were freezing and unbearable. The beach is meh 😑- quite small and more like a pool, although they do a great job keeping it clean. The rooms were a little worn out and needed some maintenance, but were very spacious and comfortable. The jacuzzi in the room was a plus and the shower was so big and beautiful. Overall, the staff were super nice! - we had a great time but were disappointed with the food and with so many options, I don’t think we would go back to this property

A nice property with friendly good staff. Property was large with a lot of walking unless you used the shuttle service. Coffee shop you had to pay for but there was good coffee at Breakfast.

First time at EDSS. We did enjoy the large rooms and liked the idea of the swim out suites. In reality, the swim outs that are elevated are cold and unused. The pools are not heated, not just the swim outs but the main pool. The pools are also heavily shaded which might be lovely in warm months but the I couldn’t even bring myself to do more than dip a toe in December. Each morning we made our way to the Palms side of Seaside Suites and preferred the ocean temperatures for swimming and relaxing. This whole side of the resort has a more friendly vibe and if we ever come back we are definitely Seaside Palms people. Best bar service from Maria!!! She was a star and I hated to see those around me not tipping her. The food on this resort is top notch, not standard bland buffets. We were a little sad that seaside suites only had one restaurant so it felt like we were leaving our hotel to do everything. We didn’t mind the short walks and usually had good luck catching a golf cart ride. The protected beach on Palms side had many varieties of fish eager to eat right from your hands. We did the free catamaran but probably wasn’t worth the long drive and being stuck at the beach club. We left our resort 7:30am and the bus didn’t bring us back until 6:00pm and we almost missed our dinner reservation. We didn’t anticipate it taking so long and that wasn’t explained. Fortunately Javier our Catamarán host was excellent and made it enjoyable even though it was too windy to snorkel.

I recently stayed at this resort and was thoroughly disappointed by the overall experience. While the location had potential, the service and amenities fell far short of expectations. Service and Staff: The service was inconsistent. While the bellboys were great and consistently helpful, many of the women staff responded with passive-aggressive tones, making interactions uncomfortable. The concierge was unhelpful when issues arose, only addressing concerns after escalating frustrations. At GP restaurant, the hostess lied about the wait time, seating a party of 10 ahead of us despite our 40-minute wait. The front desk staff was hit-or-miss—while one gentleman was helpful, a younger woman mishandled our checkout and then gaslit me, claiming she had provided a ticket that she never gave. Dining Experience: The food was underwhelming, lacking flavor and arriving cold when ordered through room service. The delays in service only added to the dissatisfaction. Amenities and Atmosphere: The resort’s amenities were not as advertised. The beach beds had torn towels, and the overall availability of amenities was disappointing. To make matters worse, the music played throughout the resort seemed catered exclusively to older guests, disregarding the preferences of a younger demographic. While there were a few bright spots—these were overshadowed by the unprofessionalism and poor service throughout the resort. Hopefully management intervenes to improve future guest experiences.
