I visited this property for my birthday. The staff was kind but the people visiting were unkind and rude which had nothing to do with the property. It was the first time as a solo traveler I encountered this throughout the whole property and it’s unwelcoming to feel that type of prejudice as a traveler to a foreign country. The balcony was nice to sit and be in solitude and I can listen to the waves and even hear the nightly events. The property is far away from everything and to leave or venture out you will need to take a taxi. The only recommendation I have is to add umbrellas, tents, and maybe cabanas on the beach bc it’s so hot and the beautiful palm trees don’t provide a lot of coverage. There was an event every night and food easily available and cooked well. I received beautiful pastries for my birthday and a kind note. The property is well kept and clean.

I thought the property overall was pretty well kept and clean. There was some garbage occasionally in the halls (ie. empty cup) or dirty plates by the rooms. The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and always had a smile on their face. They always made sure our drinks were filled and one guy nicely came back with an ice bucket and a bottle of both white wine and prosecco. The food was good, brunch/breakfast by far was the best. The Japanese place was not great and would definitely avoid going there. The italian place, pompeya, was ok. Overall the grounds were beautiful, the people were extremely friendly, but the the food was subpar.

This place was very dirty. Stuff they don’t help you and don’t show up when you ask for towels . Flyes and bugs dancing in top of the food . We got food poison the second day . We got massage and they charge us double that they said . Was to late when we saw the bank because we left the resort 3 days early than supost to leave . All of us they got sick so bad and we pay tikets to go back home . Was a bad experience and never I will step to Riu again .

I have been to many Rius in different countries. And have been to all the Rius on Cancun strip. Also the RIU latino which isn't too far from this RIU dunamar. All I can say is the dunamar was by far the WORST experience. The night time front desk staff and steakhouse Door staff are rude!! The staff around the pool and beach were pretty much non existing. Which was so weird for a RIU! They only had a guy walking around with a white cart handling 4 pools. The food was also very underwhelming. The restaurants will give out clickers for about 1 hour and then tell you they are completely reserved for the whole night. So if you want to eat at a restaurant please be there by 7pm. Or you will eat at the buffet that serve the same exact thing every night. The nightly shows were an absolute JOKE! The worst I have ever seen. The dancers were ametur, low energy, never in sync. This was such anheadr break for us because we normally rate RIU hotels higher then others bases on the entertainment. And it was just BAD at this hotel. If you're looking to stay here. Please reconsider. I promise the ones on the Cancun strip are better!!

They put on great family friendly shows that also was equally to adult entertainment. Didn’t like they didn’t have umbrella on the beach with the chairs. But made due a moved the chairs with the shade of the palm trees.

The staff were rude the entire trip. The phones did not work in the rooms. The customer service was horrible. When I tried to complain about cigarettes smells in the room, no towels, no phone service, I was treated very nasty by the front desk staff.

I have mixed emotions about the resort. We chose this Riu because we were a big group of mixed ages. We loved the water park for the little ones and the big kids. The entertainment was great everyday. We all enjoyed the white party for the whole family. I liked it is not a huge resort and easy to get around. We were disappointed with the food and liquor. A tip to bring your own liquor from duty free. This resort only has bottom shelf and it was terrible. Mexico has delicious food but we didn’t love the food at this location. It was ok but everyday was a hit and miss. The restaurants are small so make sure to get there by 7 pm to get a table.
