Expedia costumers do not have same privileges than other customers coming from different tourism companies specially from France and Italy. That was told us by hotel Manager and I don't think Expedia is aware about it. No vip benefits or acknowledge terrible and unfriend staff specially at kids club.

Great family hotel, staff fantastic but the little critters jumping on chairs and stealing food was a bit too much for us. The staff did constantly try to shoo them away but it was considerably annoying.

Poor value for the price we paid. Property is cutting costs on food, staff training, room maintenance, spa facilities, a la carte restaurants. Stayed in this property before (6 years ago) and thought it was fantastic. Most everything that made this property special, such as excellent restaurants, customer service, grounds upkeep is no longer there. While property grounds are still beautifully landscaped, the trash and food leftovers are not picked up, the tables in the lobby, around the pool and the beach, coffee shop are always sticky and full of crumbs which invites ants and raccoons. The food was the worst we had in 25 years vacationing in Mexico. We are not picking eaters, but the taste and the quality of food is similar to hospital or school cafeteria- bland, greasy, tasteless, re-heated or fried, and heavily processed. Our last meal at the Spanish restaurant (which is no longer serves tapas) was boiled potatoes with mayo for the appetizer, and a mystery canned meat with soupy rice for (the called beef ribs and Spanish rice). The Asian restaurant meals tasted like microwaveable lunches . B-loved and Grill- OK fish. salads, but tough and poorly cooked meat. Italian- the only good restaurant. Rooms- clean, but outdated. Airconditioner turned on and off every 30 minutes was so loud, it was impossible to get a restful sleep. Spa- poorly functioning sauna, tiny steam room and jacuzzi with mostly non-functional jets. Too bad this property is so mismanaged.

We liked the resort area, I enjoyed the long walk through the park, which looked like a jungle alley, from the buffet to the beach and the hotel room, with animals all around. There are no elevators, and the buildings are 2-3 stories high. There are plenty of sun loungers, and the palm trees provide good shade. You can walk along the beach for a long time. Cons: I didn't like the unjustified long lines to get into the buffet when there were quite a lot of free seats in the hall, same allergy question and room number is annoying.

We've been bopping around resorts for about 20 years now and Catalonia was a clean, small, lovely & quiet resort. We opted for the upgraded Privilege and this is how I summarize our trip: PROS: *Beloved restaurant was one of our favourites so this was a GREAT benefit of doing the privilege package. *Beach has big waves and is VERY fun to play in *Very small resort in comparison to a lot of others so it's nice and quiet: great for couples & young families *Food options were great (We're vegetarian and found the options were amazing!) *Room service was a great perk & Biki *Very friendly staff & cleaners are so hardworking! *Bikini Bites is the best! CONS: *We felt a bit judged upon arrival and were given a room that I felt did NOT reflect the privilege upgrade $. The bathroom seemed it was half way through renovations. We asked to move the next day; it was a bit of a process but they moved us to another room. I would say the rooms are a bit disappointing. I've seen nicer rooms, without an upgrade, so that was the biggest disappointment. *Both of us had stomach issues all week (which is not normal for me) and I ended up getting sick from the buffet so we avoided the buffet after that. *NO TRANSPORT included when booking this package with expedia!! We got screwed at the airport not knowing this (it's always been included previously when I've booked with WestJet, Sunwing, SellOffVacations) Our stomachs were not great all 9 days so for that reason, I give the stay a 4.0/5

This is our favorite place, our home away from home! The service and attention to detail is amazing. We have made some amazing friends at this resort over time. We had some very special help this trip from Arantza Ramos in guest services. This trip we were a group of 12, and were completely satisfied as always.

While the bartenders and restaurant staff were very kind and did a great job, the cleaning staff failed every day to refill anything in our room including towels, toilet paper and water. We made a request after the first day to the front desk and it was still happening every other day. I had to find staff in the hallway and get it from their closet myself.

The food was good, lot of fresh fruits and veggies. We loved the cafe and daily eating options. Access to the property is very unpleasant. You don’t feel like you are going to a vacation spot. The hotel style wasn’t my favourite but it was ok. What I didn’t find interesting is the local racoon population. They are everywhere…everywhere!!! You watch your small kids, food, your balcony. They claim, they jump. Staff was awesome!
