I booked a Ocean view, but my view was of a dirty roof top. They said that they asked expedia to update the details in the past, and that they will ask again. I said ok but how does that do for me right now. Then then offered a room change for a “small fee” of $290 a day an upgrade. I declined. The next day i noticed mold in the shower, brown stains on my sheets, and a half drank bottle of water. I informed the front desk and they verified everyhing i said was true. They then showed me two different rooms where the view was bulldozers doing excavating and it was very loud. Finally they offered another room with a actual ocean view. However in this toom the shower door was broken, but i took it anyway, because they had already wasted too much time and i just wanted to enjoy myself. Other issues where they kept coming into my room and ignoring the privacy door placard. I also never recieved my $200 resort credit, and honestly i didnt remeber about it till i was checking out. They gave some coupons as i was checking out ( which obviously i could not use. I felt as i was treated as a opportunistic person, which i am not. There is a difference between opportunistic and high expectations. During the stay and all the issues i asked the front desk to have the gm contact me, but that never happened either. Also if you are looking for a nice beach, you wont find it here. It dirty and full of rocks. The property itself is actually nice, but they dropped the ball overal

Beautiful resort, breathtaking views. We loved the aminities, pools/bars, spa, club lounge, theatre, etc..Our room was amazing with beachfront view. We paid the extra to have access to the club lounge, which is a private area on the rooftop where you can eat/drink and enjoy a private pool. There is a lot of restaurant choices which is great and it is also first come first serve, so no need to book ahead of time. However of the 2 restaurants we tried, the food was Ok..I was definitely expecting more quality/tasty food. So this was a bummer for me. Loved the fact that its adult only, there were people from all ages, mostly couples and from everywhere! Staff was friendly and offered great service. Overall very good experience. We will definitely return to a Secrets!

Did a solo stay for my birthday. Amazing resort. The only issue I had was the staff would constantly ask out loud was I alone. This being my first solo trip safety was a big issue and the staff constanly made public I was solo. Of prefer to ask more discreet. I didnt want everyone to know I was alone. Overrall I had an amazing stay.

I still give this resort a five star review despite the following: Upon checking in to the room, it clearly smelled of smoke. The curtains smelled, the room smelled. Cover up efforts had been made, but it still smelled. A call to the front desk resulted in a quick move to a different room. The room smelled like incense. But we were done moving. Unfortunately, our ocean view room did not face the pool and ocean; rather, it faced a junkie lot, with the ocean in the distance. One other stupid thing was that upon check in, they send you over to a nice little guy who begins by explaining the resort to you and offering some useless $20 and $40 coupons to spa treatments running $300-500. The coupons can't be combined, so they really are worthless. This guy pressures you to meet the next morning for a timeshare presentation where you'll be given a gift of a couple's massage just for attending a 90 min tour. No thanks. Waste of 20 minutes. That was the only negative. Grounds were gorgeous. Pools were fantastic. Cenotes were a nice touch. Every restaurant was generally easy to get in to and without reservation (except Japanese) and the food everywhere was the best at any all inclusive I've ever had. (I've been to 20 plus over the years). The steak place was disappointing. The only steak on the free menu was a sirloin. For $100 you could get a ribeye or t bone. Elias, our pool guy was amazing. Pool Bar tenders were fun and engaging. Would return

We loved the property. All restaurants and facilities were grouped together and within a reasonable distance. The property was very nice and and still had the appearance of being relatively new. The infinity pool was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This was our 10th time visiting the area and our first at Secrets. It exceeded our expectations. The service is absolutely fantastic. Jaime at the pool is so lovely and made sure to tale care of us everyday. The servers in the restaurants were always helpful and ready to answer amy questions we had. The biggest shout out goes to Axel who took care of our room everyday. He was absolutely the BEST! We like to keep our room clean and organized, but he made it so easy. Our room was absolutely spotless everyday! We will be back!

The staff was very attentive and was always willing to go above and beyond.. wether it was stopping you in the hallways to help you with your bag or cleaning your sunglasses for you if they noticed they looked a little smudged.. I always appreciated the hospitality their team truly had. As far as the ambiance, the property is stunning, just up until it meets the water. The beach is nothing special to look at which was a bummer, I spent 0 time on the beach and just hung out at their pools. Secrets Moxché does a wonderful job with the upkeep of the property, the landscaping and cleanliness was a 10/10. The onsite activities the resort hosts such as karaoke or pool games were always a hit. The live entertainment was comparable to a Vegas show, very talented individuals and a great production team. Now while all of that sounds amazing was it worth the $$$.. would I stay here again? Probably not…Unfortunately our AC was constantly going out, the Power would go out multiple times a day…lights constantly flickering on and off. The amount of extra fees we would come across for food and beverage was also a little bit of a sticker shock. I think we accidentally ended up buying a bottle of Kim Crawford at dinner for $100? Insanity. But I get it, although I felt a little tricked seeing it was an all inclusive resort. The prices at the spa were also slightly high, somewhat to where I felt like my massage was not worth what I had paid. Lastly food was a 4/10, no comment…

Secrets Moxche was beautiful, the food was amazing, and all of the staff was courteous, and more than willing to help. Our room was beautiful and located in a great spot. We knew the beach was going to be small and just spent a few minutes there as we really focus on the pools, so the small beach was not an issue for us. While the pools are all gorgeous, especially the Lagoon Pool, the pools all stopped circulating water / filtering for one day in the middle of our trip. They all lost about 6-7 inches of water due to evaporation, which in turn made the pool water very very warm. This is not typically a problem, but when it is hot out and you want to cool down, it almost was warmer and hotter getting in the pools. Especially the Main pool by the beach and the middle pool as they are both darker / black pools. We were able to cool off in our Private Pool as we had a swim up. Shortly after the pools had the issue, there was a power outage in the resort. It was not long, but there were people trapped in elevators that were not too happy. Whatever fixed the power outage, shortly after fixed the circulating / filtering issue with the pools. But for the remaining 3 days we were there, the pools never gained back the lost water and stayed really warm. The only other issue we had was there were a lot of Kudamundi (Raccoon like animals) on the property. In the evenings they really came out and would jump out of trash cans. Otherwise we would stay at another Secrets.
