Very good

Bar is very limited, no top shelf anything. Food menu very limited, but available food is really good. All staff personnel were great and very helpful.
Property was amazing. They have places on the beach, garden and jungle. So make sure you read and not assume. We stayed on the beach and enjoyed hearing the waves at night. Also the gym is bigger than it looks and my wife made use of it ( she is a body building competitor). Older machines but makes for a great pump. Breakfast was delightful, only 1 coffee, but they are working on changing this. Overall I highly recommend this place for a mature couple looking to relax and get their steps up.
Nos trataron de robar 10 mil pesos por unas bicicletas que ya avian recuperado! Aparte se nos olvido el celular en el cuarto y no no lo regresaron! No renten aqui❌
I have never felt so welcomed at a hotel like I was at Roc. Julio, Enrique and Hanz were incredibly accommodating and helpful. Anything we ended was taken care of and that started before we even got there with a group chat created to facilitate all aspects of the trip. We will be returning with a bigger party. Walking distance to many places and great energy at the pool beach club. Loved every minute of our 8 day stay. Can’t wait to go back soon during our winter in NYC!
Initially when we got there it was great, staff was friendly and attentive. My wallet was stolen by a staff member from our room and when confronted about it, they tried to convince me I never had it. After that they became really sketchy, acting like they wanted to help but nothing was done. And coincidentally they couldn't find the file for the cameras and again it was only pointing towards the bar were no customers would have been standing/sitting. Super disappointed with the quality of service and staff.

We didn’t receive the room we booked. When we talked to the front desk about it, they told us our room they gave us was a “free upgrade” while admitting the room they gave us was smaller than the room we booked. The room was average with a glass screen door as the front door. In a run down area and not worth the money spent. We were booked for the Jungle room and they placed us on a completely different property. I would not stay here again.

the lights went out in our room. We were given another room and the lights went out on that room as well. We spent one entire day and night without water and light. Unable to shower and slept with the heat! No one came to apologize or to provide us with any other acommodations or ask us if we needed anything. We were very dissapointed with the service. Lastly, saying that Tulum is overpriced is an understatement. Not worth the trip. Definitely not traveling here again.
Great hotel located on the beach. Staff was amazing in helping me plan my trip before arrival and during my stay. Good restaurant. Great pool. Highly recommend. Rooms were amazing especially the outdoor bathroom. Mau and Enrique were great!

Stayed a week at Roc Lux which is just the beach area of Roc Jungle overall a good stay but many little things to be improved on . The rooms were fairly warm but comfortable , please note you must have your credit card or cash on because of having to close out your room charges every shift . Also no room service is available and some of the staff acts as if they are there to get their tips and not all that friendly . The property is about 1.5 miles from any action or good dining / shopping . If you want to go somewhere and detach it works but if you are looking for luxury this is not your spot . Beach was dirty and the hotel did not care to rake the seaweed so that was not ideal . I did not hate it but would not return . Thank you Roc Lux for our stay

Unique, not for all, fun for us
The jungle rooms were about a 1/4 mile down a dirty road, Once in you room, you felt like you were in the jungle. The showers are mostly glass to the outside and into the room. Great for couples, less great for friends and family. Some of the interior buildings/rooms had their showers along a walkway. Ours was on the outside of the property, so we just saw jungle.
The breakfast was delicious. The free breakfast came with really nice fruit platters. We typically also added/shared an omelette, which was also amazing and only $11usd. Do watch out for tricky add-on to the bill. Everyday we (and others) got free OJ and tea/coffee refills. The last day they changed $5USD for a single additional cheap lipton tea. They refunded it, but argued it and had to get 4 or 5 people involved.
Overall great staff. Great place.
First and foremost the reception staff was outstanding! The hut we stayed in was gorgeous as well as the beach and pool...so stunning! There were a few annoyances...they wanted to limited our bottles of water to 2pp/per day and then charge us after that. There is no drinks menu so you are charged different prices (even if ordered the same time of day) depending on what button they choose. We were also charged different prices from the breakfast menu that what was listed and instead of simply changing the bill, (bc the menu stated a lower price) the staff had to argue over it. At this time, it was impossible to charge anything to our room so there was less freedom and the constant reminder to remember your credit card. Most of the staff was excellent, some in the restaurant were inhospitable at times. I believe this is a management issue and could be resolved easily with some kind oversight from them. It would behoove management to set standards at the restaurant for pricing. Overall, we would go back. The location is lovely and away from the pounding of the music in the denser areas of Tulum. Really loved most everything!
Absolutely beautiful property. The staff was so nice and always went above and beyond to help us. Reyes and Jorge at the beach were great; lots of tequila shots and really yummy French fried. Mau and Julio at the front desk were the best - they were super helpful when assisting us in extending our trip an extra night as our flight was canceled back home bc of snow!!
Hotel grounds were never super crowded and we never had an issue getting chairs or beds on the beach. Quiet, peaceful and luxurious.
Bathrooms do lack privacy as they are outdoors and only a wall made of twigs separates you from the elements. However, it was literally the only thing I would change if I could!!
the “jungle” part of this hotel is part of a larger development that is barely off the ground, no common areas. rooms at first look nice but there are a million issues with these cabins, one of them being major flooding in the room. We had a tremendous amount of water come in the room from multiple sides. I’m addition, the windows don’t open, only the screen door. The problem is the actual screen part doesn’t fully close so you will get nasty misquotes. There is also a big issues with the door locks. We were locked in and had no way of getting out (you can’t open the windows). We kept calling the front desk and pounding at the window until someone heard us. Clearly this is a big issue and huge hazard. The employees confirmed that this is a common issues.
While everyone for the most part was very nice ( except for the hostess at the front of Roc, a very tall European woman who was extremely rude) The employees are incentivized to up-sell the guest. It was soooo annoying and off putting. Every single staff member tried to sell something like a time-share. And they are super persistent. It made no sense to me that they would give their guests that type of experience.
The breakfast was mehhhhh at best.
This place only plays electronic music just fyi
The bar drinks were really really weak. Which is really their loss cause we would have spent a ton of money on the bar. Overall I would not recommend at all. It felt very tacky and no poor guest experience.

Please note that there are two properties with Roc Jungle located behind Roc Luxe and you had to get tuk tuk to get to the beach. We were lucky to get upgraded to Roc Luxe and what a difference it makes being located right on the beach and having a nice beach hut with the sea view! Alan at the reception (as well as other team members) was amazing! Thank you guys! Sorting out the queries we had and being very accommodating. Roc Jungle is nice but very basic especially if you compare it vs Roc Luxe. If you doubt - Roc Luxe is what I would def recommend!
