Food was terrible. They allow children in adults only areas. Random staff walking in our room while sleep. Order room service and it never comes or comes incorrect. We received one towel key for 2 rooms and 4 people. Other guest were welcomed with drinks and champagne upon arrival but weren’t offered anything. We made an in person reservation at restaurant with the manager then the next day they told us we didn’t have a reservation. I don’t recommend this resort.

It was very pretty and it felt at times magical to be there. The main issues were that one had to reserve tables before getting there to dine at most restaurants in the facility. Although, they did have one that was a la carte all the time. The drinks were heavily watered down and was very disappointing. Came to find out that only if you had a specific colored bracelet (all inclusive), you received that drink. Ours unfortunately, was the lesser of the 3. This made the experience feel as though we were “third class” citizens at times. This differentiation also followed us at the beach, at specific restaurants, amenities and so forth. Such a shame that as a paying customer, nonetheless, we were treaded differently. If I was aware of the different service that we were going to get I might have paid extra to get the full treatment. Yet, who wants to be a part of a classist vacation?! No thank you. But, everything else was good, entertainment, shopping, the convenience of shuttles back and forth, the safety was a plus and even met some staff who treated us like “black bracelet members “even though we were only “blue.” Do not believe we’ll return. So sad, had we felt truly welcomed there would have been no hesitation.

I’ve been to Sandos before in 2011, 2012, 2016 and this time I have to say this was disappointing. It was a waste of money. From walking in to the front desk requesting for a specific room which I was told I can get but once I get there it was an absolute NO. The room we did get was all the way far in. It was a great suite but here’s a thing, we wanted to use the Jacuzzi, we tried and the entire room was filled with water. They came fixed it and guess what when we tried using it at night, the water again started leaking they came fixed it and finally we were able to use the next day, however not once anyone called and asked how did it go, do you need the room to be changed or what can we do to make this better. First two days were awful, since we waited for the guy to come and fix and then come back to fix again. Not even that if ur not a member get ready to be treated with disregard. The choices of alcohol was bare minimum and the non member side was packed at all times, not enough chairs, where my friend and I had so to sit on the sand and use our towels for cushioning. There is no one coming to you for beverages, so now u have to pass the member bar side to get alcohol or water from the other bar. So inconvenient. The restaurants are there for mostly members and if ur lucky u might get a reservation at a restaurant but don’t waste ur time just stick with the buffet. If you’re not a member, don’t waste ur time and money going here. Sandos you were disappointing!

Someting’ wasn’t right about the theme restaurants , only the asiana food was hot and well executed,Italian restaurant was terrible. Food was served almost cold. And lacks of authenticity, even the meximex rest sas a bit off, pools nice beach awesome no activities escept for shows, they do not share anymore with Sandos caracol meaning no longer can u visit there..overall a little disappointing but we had a fare good time..

Maybe new air conditioning, elevator wasn’t working and new food ideas in the buffet. I also think that the adult only breakfast near the beach should also have adult only pool access for just adults not families because it didn’t make sense for a family pool but the food area is only for adults. We have seen kids that were hungry asking for food or fruits but they were not allowed to come in.

First, the good. The resort was clean. There were people cleaning around the property all the time. Public bathrooms were kept clean. The restaurants on property were good. The Brazilian Steak house was excellent. The resort is quite large. We were at one end in the family rooms. To get to the pools or beach, there was a shuttle. Unfortunately, it was often full and trams didn't come around nearly enough. We waited 30 minutes one day, and then when it arrived, it was full. Sometimes there was a seat or two available and then it was full fledged "Hunger Games" to secure a seat. You could walk, but it was quite a ways and we had little tired people with us. The tram situation would keep us from booking there again. We were a group of 30. My son and girlfriend were in the adults only part of the resort. The air conditioning went out one night. They were assured it would be fixed. It was still out the next day. We wanted another room.They didn't want to give us one. They actually showed us the motor that was broken...We didn't care. We only wanted an air conditioned room. It took several hours to get the situation resolved. We did have a concierge available to us. Kena was amazing. She was so responsive and secured us reservations at the restaurants we wanted. She waded into the no air conditioning situation and helped us get resolution. Honestly, I have stayed at better resorts, so we won't be returning to Sandos Playacar.

Everything about this resort was perfect. The adult section was definitely our favorite because it was peaceful. There were events that would happen in the pool but it was great to watch or participate. The food options were great as well! Lots of variety from a buffet or select restaurants that you need reservations for. Last thing that I enjoyed were the workers walking around giving us more activities to do in our vacation such as snorkeling, atv riding and many more.
